Quick update as Wednesday evening comes to a close. The latest three-day hurricane center models have Key West inside the cone, but nearer the outside edge than ever before. That could mean we get some very nasty weather, but not the direct-hit, Cat 4 or 5 we were expecting just a day ago.

Ed and the Cat 5s are packed and ready to go — or stay. He spent the day finishing the prep work and helping some of the neighbors who are definitely staying put. He’ll decide mid-day Thursday if he’s going to brave the traffic and lack of gasoline to head north toward Tampa.

In the meantime, he walked downtown after supper, I’ll share those strange and eerie pictures shortly. For now, here’s what our beloved Chart room looked like around 9 p.m. tonight.
